Meet your favourite stars at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in
Sidney

Sydney is a city with a lot to offer including bustling bars, beautiful gardens and
an array of museums. One of the cities biggest attractions is the Madame
Tussauds Wax Museum located in Darling Harbor by the Sydney Aquarium.
Madame Tussauds is part of Merlin Entertainments and is home to a large
collection of wax actors, celebrities and famous people from around the world.
Madame Tussauds can be found worldwide in London, Paris, Los Angeles,
Berlin and Las Vegas to name a few. However, Sydney is the only city on the
Oceanic continent to house a wax museum making it a unique experience for
all.

Making the waxwork figures is not an easy task as it takes more than 800 hours
of moulding, sizing and painting. For this process, the museum consults with
trained professionals in charge of replicating the stars to ensure they’re an
accurate representation.

Inside there is a wide collection of famous figures including movie actors, sports
stars and interesting politicians. New figures are added to the collection
regularly to create new and innovative experiences for all visitors. You can also
enjoy wandering around famous sets and scenes where you can pose for a
photo with your favourite celebrity. For example, visitors can pose for the royal
family portrait, sit on the throne of Queen Elizabeth or take a call in the office of
the president of the United States of America.

Exploring the wax figures is both a funny and interactive experience. You can
also learn about some of Australia’s biggest stars and legends including
Australia’s ex-ministers Bob Hawke, Julia Gillard and John Howards, the great
Australian athletes, including Mark Webber, Ian Thorpe, Rob Laver and
Sir. Donald Bradman. The music section of the museum showcases Australian
pop including Delta Goodrem and the great Jimmy Barnes, Olivia Newton-John
and Michael Hutchence. In fashion, the catwalks and seventh art, you can see
stars like Elle Macpherson and Miranda Kerr, as well as Nicole Kidman, Hugh
Jackman and Kylie Minogue.

The museum has recently opened an area dedicated to fashion week so
fashion lovers can have the experience of interacting with the latest trends and
immersing themselves in the fashion world.

Tickets to the museum range in price depending on your age. There are also
packages for families or for those who wish to combine the museum with some
of the cities other key attractions. Visit the website for a complete price guide
and to see the museum opening times.
